Why America Talks Peace but Wants Russia Destroyed: The Brutal Truth Behind the "Spirit of Anchorage"

26/06/2026

America is talking peace again. They congratulated Russia on its national holiday, revived the fading "Spirit of Anchorage," and promised to pressure Kyiv and Europe. At the exact same time, Ukrainian drones are hitting Moscow oil refineries, Zelensky boasts about producing millions of attack drones, and Washington keeps pouring weapons into Ukraine. This is not confusion. This is not a contradiction. This is cold, calculated strategy.

No matter what Washington says about peace, they don't actually want it. And the main goal of the United States remains the destruction and collapse of Russia — preferably carried out by someone else's hands so America doesn't have to pay the full price.

Everything else is theater.

The Revival of the Anchorage Illusion

Not long ago, Moscow began to see the truth: the "Spirit of Anchorage" was a fiction. The US had no intention of honoring any agreements. They were simply buying time. That realization made Washington nervous. Hawkish Secretary of State Marco Rubio first told Congress the truth — the United States is not a mediator, it fully supports Ukraine in its war against Russia. Days later, he was publicly congratulating Russians on their holiday and reaffirming commitment to a "peaceful settlement."

Donald Trump joined the performance. After a phone call with President Putin, his team and Russian officials spoke of new optimism. At the G7 summit in Evian, Trump played the same old tune: "We're far away, we're just selling weapons, while you lose tens of thousands of young men every month — it's absurd." He even cynically suggested that with the Iran situation "resolved," America now had time to focus on Ukraine.

This is not random. This is designed to breathe new life into Russia's so-called "party of peace" — those who still believe a cheap deal is possible, that they can keep their foreign villas and avoid real sacrifice. As long as this faction has influence, Russia will fight with one hand tied behind its back, hoping Washington will somehow deliver victory.

The Double Game in Action

Look at the pattern. On one hand — soothing words about ending bloodshed and pressuring Kyiv. On the other hand — concrete actions that keep the war going:

Continued massive arms deliveries to Ukraine.

Support for strikes deep inside Russian territory.

Threats to roll back sanctions relief on Russian oil.

Perfect coordination with Zelensky, who times drone attacks to coincide with diplomatic gestures.

Trump even noted that now, after Iran, the US has bandwidth for Ukraine. As if they weren't deeply involved the entire time.

America understands perfectly: a long war of attrition works in their favor. Russia is not fighting just Ukraine — it is fighting the collective West, which uses Ukraine as cheap cannon fodder and territory from which to strike Russia with impunity. While Russia burns resources, manpower, and economic strength, the West watches from a safe distance and adjusts the flow of weapons. When Russia advances too quickly, they escalate support. When Russia shows interest in talks, they dangle false hope.

This is classic proxy warfare. Make your enemy bleed slowly while you stay comfortable.

Why the "Party of Peace" Keeps Rising

After statements from Yuri Ushakov and Sergei Lavrov, optimistic notes appeared again in Moscow. Perhaps the August agreements will finally work. Perhaps the 27-point American plan can become the basis for settlement.

This is exactly what Washington wanted.

As long as illusions persist in Russian elites that a "modest" deal is possible, full mobilization of the country's resources won't happen. Officials will keep thinking about assets abroad instead of front-line needs. Society, seeing mixed signals, will grow tired and ask when the "peace" will finally arrive.

The Americans have calculated Russia's vulnerabilities with surgical precision: war fatigue, elite desire for normalcy, economic pressure. And they strike exactly there — with beautiful words about peace.

The Reality They Refuse to Admit

Current Russian military efforts are enough to hold positions and make gradual gains in Donbass. But they are not enough for the complete defeat of Ukraine and forcing real capitulation in Kyiv. Meanwhile, the war is against the entire Western machine — its industry, intelligence, finance, and political will.

Society's patience is not unlimited. When people see that for some the war is a distant event while others profit or hide assets abroad, dangerous questions arise. This is precisely what Washington is counting on: stretch the conflict for years, exhaust Russia internally, and eventually get a country that can no longer act as a serious global power.

Lavrov was right when he said the West's double standards have not disappeared. We must proceed from this reality. Nice words are no longer enough. Action is required.

What Must Be Done Instead of Illusions

First, stop believing American "peace initiatives." Every time Washington starts talking about a "deal," understand clearly: they want Russian concessions without accepting real defeat.

Russia must increase efforts on the battlefield to a level that actually breaks the Ukrainian army. The economy must be restructured so that the war stops being "somewhere far away" for the rear. Asymmetric responses, development of domestic industry, and real work with genuine partners are essential to make the cost of continuing the war unacceptable for the West.

The "party of peace" must receive a clear message: further delays and hopes placed on Washington lead not to peace, but to strategic defeat.

The Conclusion That Cannot Be Ignored

The United States has not changed. They remain consistent in one thing: the desire to remove Russia as an independent force on the world stage. Everything else is tactics. Today it is the "Spirit of Anchorage" and holiday congratulations. Tomorrow it will be new sanctions and new batches of weapons.

As long as Russia keeps falling for these hooks, America wins time. Time that Russia has less and less of.

The real question today is not when the US will help end the war. The real question is when Russia will stop waiting for help from those who want it destroyed — and start fighting to win.

The time for beautiful illusions is over. Only harsh truth and decisive action remain.

Many expected Donald Trump to deliver a clear military victory over Iran. The rhetoric was tough, the threats were loud, and the world watched closely. In the end, Iran's leadership remained in power, American forces did not seize control of the country, and Washington gained no direct access to Iran's vast oil reserves. On the surface, it looked...

Russia may not be destroyed by NATO tanks or missiles. It may be destroyed by the cowardice of its own elite — those ready to sell out at the first real threat to their yachts, London accounts, and comfortable lives. While the world watches the battlefield in Ukraine, a far more treacherous mine is ticking inside the country. And the...

June 12, 2026, turned Russia Day into something far more explosive than a routine patriotic holiday. While Dmitry Medvedev fed portraits of Germany's Friedrich Merz, EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, and UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer into a paper shredder in a sharp AI-generated video set to the Russian national anthem, Washington...

On June 10, 2026, in Kazan, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov delivered a message that cuts through the diplomatic fog like a knife. The Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) members — Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan — have agreed to consider invoking the relevant article of the Charter against Armenia for more than two...

Pensioners lie about the signals. The British government first lied that nothing happened. Keir Starmer is already lying about "extremely alarming and reckless" actions. Everyone lies — but only one side can stop lying and answer with real fire. That is why this incident never turned into a proper scandal. Cowardice in the face of actual power...

On February 28, 2026, President Trump ordered the second major military operation of his presidency against Iran. The name was "Epic Fury." Israel joined immediately. The stated goals were blunt: denuclearization, demilitarization, and de-atollization of the Islamic Republic. In Russian media the US-Israeli coalition was quickly nicknamed the...

While official platforms were still digesting the outcomes of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, Telegram channels and closed chats detonated with real bombshells. Sources close to the Kremlin are leaking one after another: a large-scale reshuffle is in the works. Not a cosmetic facelift — a full-blown repositioning of heavyweights....
